Our Team
Meet Dr. Raymond A. Ramos, DDS
Dr. Ramos grew up in Southern California. He majored in Biology at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. While in college, he worked at a dental laboratory which sparked his interest in becoming a dentist. In 1993 he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of the Pacific Dental School. He practiced as a general dentist in Sonoma County before attending the University of Maryland where he received his certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. In 1999, he joined Dr. Steigner at our original office on Maria Drive in Petaluma and began his career in pediatric dentistry. When asked what he likes most about being a pediatric dentist, he says "I love what I do and it doesn't feel like work. As a dad, I appreciate the trust the parents place in me and it's a privilege to watch their children grow up over the years. Even when the kids are old enough to graduate to an adult dentist, I still see their little face from their first visit with me when they were a toddler.”
Dr. Ramos owns our practice along with his wife, Dr. Cheryl Willett, DDS, who is also a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and practices part-time in Santa Rosa, Ca. They have two beautiful daughters and enjoy calling Sonoma County home. The Ramos’ keep busy with their daughter’s school and extracurricular activities, outdoor sports like racing mountain bikes and snowboarding, yoga and cooking.
Meet Our Staff
We have the best educated and most loving team who will walk you and your child through every step of their appointment. Many of our current staff were once patients here and want your child to have the same healthy relationship with their dental team as they did growing up!
Our Registered Dental Assistants specialize in numerous techniques to ensure your child has a positive experience EVERY TIME. One of our most successful techniques is “TELL, SHOW, DO”. We ease your child into their appointment by first TELLING them what we are going to do, then SHOWING them and then finally DOING! And guess what? Sometimes we don’t get to the “DO” part and THAT’S OK! Here at Raymond A. Ramos, DDS & Associates, we strive on making great ADULT patients and sometimes that means taking it ONE STEP AT A TIME when they are young.
Whether your child jumps right into the exam chair or needs a little encouragement walking from the waiting room, we are all here for them, and you, during the whole process!
Stacy
RDA, Patient Coordinator
Stacy started out as a patient and worked part-time as our sterilization tech while attending Casa Grande High School. After graduation she attended The Santa Rosa Junior College Dental Assisting program and returned to us as an intern. She graduated from SRJC with an Associates of Science degree and began working as a Registered Dental Assistant in 1995. Stacy enjoys working with kids and says,“they are so much fun. Every day there is something new and the kids always make me laugh.” Stacy is married to her high school sweetheart and they have two awesome boys that keep Stacy busy when she’s not in the office. As a family, they enjoy camping, gardening and baking.
Clinical Staff
Sandra
RDA
Sandra grew up in Petaluma and first came to our office as a patient! She returned to us as an intern while attending the Dental Assisting program at Santa Rosa Junior College. She graduated in 2016 and received the Award for Clinical Excellence from her faculty. Sandra is a cheerleader for our patients and makes sure they are calm, comfortable and have fun during their appointment. Sandra previously earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from San Francisco State University in 2001. Her experiences working with a diverse child population have carried over to her chairside assisting skills. She says, “even the tough days are good days here. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than helping a patient do something they didn’t think they could do, like take x-rays.” Sandra loves living in her hometown with her husband and their sweet baby girl, born in the Spring of 2018.
Patricia
RDA
Patricia has worked in Pediatric Dentistry for 15 years. She joined our team in 2018 and is a great bonus to our clinical staff. Tricia really shines chairside and makes sure our patients leave their appointment with valuable brushing and flossing techniques. She always wants our patients to be successful and responsible brushers! She says, “the kids are amazing and make my job fun and interesting every day. I love making them feel safe and comfortable.” Tricia lives in Petaluma with her husband and two wonderful children. In her free time she enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking and camping with her family.
Vanessa
RDA
Vanessa came to us as part of her internship through College of Marin in the Spring and Summer of 2020. We liked her so much, we decided to keep her around! Vanessa was born and raised in Sonoma and now resides in Petaluma. She is so happy to be living and working in our great Petaluma community. Vanessa says, “Kids are awesome! They are so funny and have so much energy. I’m happy to help make their experience a good one!”
Tooth Fairy
Tooth Collector
We are lucky to have a long standing relationship with the Tooth Fairy, although we’ve never actually seen her! We make sure to report on any teeth lost in the office, whether naturally or with a little help from us. Sometimes if she’s in the neighborhood, she will leave a little treat for our patients on the back counter before they even leave the office. She is super awesome and loves our patients as much as we do! Big thanks to the Tooth Fairy for pulling the night shift for so many years!
